USING THE WEBSITE
How can I find the music I'm looking for?
We have tried to make the Phonica Records website easy to use. The home / main
page shows our recommended current "essentials" - these are constantly updated
as new releases arrive every day! You can also select particular genres (eg
House, Hip Hop, Electronica etc) and enter the main page for that genre where
further recommended titles for that genre are shown followed by the latest
releases and current stock for that genre. Some genres such as House, Techno /
Electro etc are split into sub-genres (Electro House, Minimal etc) in order to
help you find exactly what you are looking for. If you are looking for a
particular record, use the search function to find it (see the question below).
How does search work?
You can use simple or advanced search. Simple Search is
a keyword search that will search album names, track names, artist, label, and
product descriptions. It is not a Boolean search, so you cannot use AND or OR.
If you are not getting the results you want, you might have better results if
you search for just one keyword vs. two. For example, a search for "DJ Larry"
will return a list of all products with either "DJ" or "Larry" in the name. It
might be more effective to search for "Larry".
Advanced Search offers three choices in keyword
searches, "any words", "all words" or "exact words". A search for "DJ Riz" for
example will results in the following:
-
"any words" will match records with occurrences of "DJ" OR "Riz"
-
"all words" matches only records with fields containing both "DJ" AND "Riz"
anywhere in the name or description.
-
"exact phrase" matches only records with occurrences of the phrase "DJ Riz"
How do I login?
All you've got to do is click "Sign In" in the upper left corner. If you've
already got an account, enter your e-mail address and password.
If you do not yet have an account, enter your name, email address and password
to create a new account.
Once you've logged-in, you can edit your profile, view order status and history,
access your wish list information, and manage your address book.
What are the rules for creating passwords?
Your password must be a minimum of six characters. We recommend a combination
of letters and numbers for maximum security.
What is the wish list for?
You can use your wish list to store items that you're interested in, but not
quite ready to buy yet.
It is also a good place to store items which are temporarily unavailable.
How do I send my wish list to family or friends?
In the My Account screen, click on "Access My Wish List". Once you've added
items to your wish list, click on "Email" and fill out the email name, email
address and any message and click "Send".

How can I contact Phonica Records?

ORDERS
What if I want to shop for some items now and but
purchase them at a later date?
You will want to use the wish list to store items that you will eventually
purchase.
Items placed in your shopping basket will not be saved when you log out or leave
the site. Your shopping basket will appear empty each time you log in.
How can I pay for my order?
You can pay for your order using Visa, MasterCard and Switch / Maestro.
The Phonica Records credit card payment system is secured and managed by
Barclaycard Merchant Services ePDQ. This system is fully compliant with the new
'chip and pin' requirement and consequently you will be asked for your card
security code.
When is the total purchase amount billed to my credit
card?
Your credit card will ONLY be debited once your order has been fulfilled and
dispatched. If items you have ordered are not in stock then the cost of those
items (including shipping where appropriate) will be deducted from your
original order. Your order confirmation email and dispatch note will confirm
the sum deducted from your credit card.
If we have a problem with Credit Card Authorisation we will contact you by email
to try and resolve this. We reserve the right to request proof of your address
and, if appropriate, deliver only to the cardholder's billing address.
Can I order by telephone or fax?
No, all orders must be placed via the website.
Can I pick up my order at the London shop?
The Customer Pickup option is provided as an alternative to having your records
delivered to you by post. Instead you can come to our London shop and "pickup" your order.
To select this option tick the "Customer Pickup" checkbox on the 'Ship To
Information' page of the checkout process. Having made payment of your order on
the Barclaycard site, and returned to the Phonica website to finalise the
order, you will then receive a confirmation e-mail. When your records are ready
you will receive a "Ready For Pickup" email which must be printed and brought
along with your credit card as proof of your identity. Your order may take up
to two hours to process in busy periods. You will not be charged any carriage
if you choose this option.
If you mistakenly choose this option, and would like
your records sent out to you, we will do so, but you will have to pay the
additional shipping charge.
