This 12" marks the debut of 21 year-old Brit Cody Currie, and there's enough here to suggest that he'll be a producer to watch in future. Both "Down On Disco Street" and "Asteroid Belt" do a good job in blending dusty disco samples with warm and swinging deep house grooves. He offers up some more funk-fuelled warmth in the shape of the tidily fluid and soul-flecked "Apollo 11", before expertly blending Afrobeat influences with hypnotic deep house on the stellar "Djembel". The EP also includes a thrusting, tech-tinged rework of "Down On Disco Street" from Apparel Music man Moony Me.
