Extremely welcome vinyl reissue for this highly collectible and obscure
early 80s jazz-funk-disco fusion LP from David Astri. Originally released
on tiny Baltimore label Award, the album oozes quality all the way from
the excellent opening track, super-cool sexy floor-filler ‘Get Down To It’ -
with standouts including the superb brass-driven funk workout ‘Do It Right’;
the beautifully delicate and dreamy ‘Safe And Sound’ and breezy summer
groover ‘Everyone Has Feelings’, both with sweet vocals from Karen
Goldberg. However, the LP saves the best till last with an amazing eight
and a half minute version of the wonderful in-demand electro funk boogie
burner ‘Dancing Digits’, a big play for many discerning DJs including Harvey,
Todd Terje etc. Don’t miss your chance to own this fantastic slice of jazz-funk
