Having been rivals on the football pitch as teenagers, a chance encounter many years later - djing at an International windsurfing festival - cumulated in a back to back set that 'kicked off' the Italia90 collaboration. Putting the footballing differences aside, Italia90 grew out of a shared love of quality house music that was influenced greatly by Glasgow's close relationship with Chicago and institutions such as the Sub Club that brought these house heroes close to home.

The Smiling Faces EP follows on from Italia90's debut release, Streetlady on the Morris/Audio compilation Approaching 100.
