As much as track names end up being slightly more than tags and guidelines for searches in the digital era of music in which we live today, the name of the title track says a lot about the intentions behind the artwork. In the case of "The Classic Age", it can be considered a homage to the influences that nourished Rotciv's career thorughout the past years. From the piano lines, to the bassline, from the beats to the chords, the listener is taken through a myriad of references: from the rhythmic staccatto strings of Hip-House, to the hectic grooves of Italo Disco and the unmistakable Detroit melodies, but it wouldn't result in such a wonderful track if it wasn't for his unqieu sense of composition to tie all up together so cohesively. "Piano Touch" tells a similar story and is as honest in ist intent as the title track, with a stronger House appeal that finds ist roots deeply inserted in the golden era of that genre. As if all this weren't enough, the remixes also pay homage to the musical realms that made "Classic Age" possible: on the European side, Ajello, the renowned producer and purveyor of the new musical flavours of his homeland has a take on the track that enhances its Italian identity; on the American side, the DJs' DJ, Detroit legend Terrence Parker updates the very sound upon which he built his reputation as one of House Music's finest names by strenghtening its delicious original deepness. In a nutshell, this EP is more than just a tribute through each one of its tracks, it is a true statement about the artists' intent and their musical horizons and devotion to the craft: many classic sources, many classic names and many classic takes, all in one classic age.
