The Wurst Music Co proudly presents its very first full-length release, the aptly titled The Wurst Music Ever. Boasting ten brand new songs from Wurst stalwarts and newcomers to the sausage party alike, the compilation is a bold step forward for the cult New York label. Released over 3 individually released 12" EPs, CD and digital, The Wurst Music Ever is that rare commodity in dance music, chock full of personality, and by no means mere dancefloor fodder.
Part I boasts New York upstarts soho808, Lisbon legend Tiago, MERC alum Chicago Damn, and New Jersey outliers Pink Stallone. Following appearances on Soul Clap’s Social Experiment 002 mix on No. 19 and Jamie Jones’ Fabric 59 mix, soho808 land on Wurst with "Reach" feat. Safiyah, easily their most accomplished work to date, fusing their now-patented slow house sound with a little of the city’s R&B swagger. Pink Stallone hooks up with Strictly Rhythm alum Joey Washington on “Help Yourself”, a ridiculously nasty slice of future funk. Tiago gives “Peanuts Not Working” his I Am The Automan treatment, channeling the 80s cosmic sound for a driving dancefloor workout. Rounding out the EP is Chicago Damn's “Romcom”, a smoky, subdued number, hinting at Detroit’s beatdown sound with the man’s now signature MPC moves.
