One of the most eagerly awaited singles this year thanks to the hype surrounding DJ Harvey, his well received Sonar finale, his set at Berghain and this, the record dedicated to that club. Locussolus are DJ Harvey, Sam Fox and Tara Selleck, ably assisted by Josh Marcy. Based in Venice Beach, their first album last year was a big Phonica seller and featured in many end of year charts! 'Berghain' is a song named after the Berlin club. Harvey ventured out in to the club post-set and got lost in the experience for many hours. The track is more stripped down than we might expect - a very strong, simple yet effective house/techno groove with trippy progressive effects - sounding more like a Sasha record or with echoes of Secret Knowledge's 'Sugar Daddy'. Telephone is Locussolus having a good time. A fun irreverent pop, disco boogie FM radio hit that never happened, happening. A big record indeed.
