Gogo Soul’ is a stunning soul jazz composition by French jazz outfit The Rongetz Foundation, featuring the great voice of Gregory Porter, the hottest jazz star of 2012. Surely one of the jazz tracks of the year it also features Ronnie Cuber on baritone saxophone. ‘Gogo Soul’ is the first single from the third album by The Rongetz Foundation, led by the composer and trumpet player Stéphane Ronget. Recorded in New York, the album will be released later on 2012 and features musicians such as Gregory Porter, Ronnie Cuber, Renee Neufville and John Robinson. On that session, Rongetz’s goal was to dig more than ever into compositions that are bridging the gap between jazz, hip hop and soul music. On the flip side of the 7” is a remix by French beatmaker Guts, who delivers a laidback mix with hip hop drums and funky keys.
