It has been five years since DJ Distance first released the inaugural effort of his Chestplate Records imprint, a label that over the years has consistently delivered only the finest cuts of bass pressure from Distance himself and the talented Chestplate collective.As a follow up last year’s Meanstreak EP, and to mark the 20th Chestplate release, Distance returns to the fray with a double A side 12” featuring two fresh tracks that have been damaging sound systems worldwide in his sets, combining superior sub bass architecture with vivid soundscapes in Distance’s own inimitable style.The A side sees a track released that Distance has kept on lock down, only giving it a track name just recently, and a beat that has generated a fevered hype throughout the dubstep community. The Result of Sound is as epic as anything he has made before, layered with a rich tapestry of synths that wouldn’t sound out of place in a 1980’s sci-fi film score. The track develops with menacing, tearing mid-range riffs and purposeful, no-nonsense drum work to form a hard hitting masterpiece of a tune, showcasing Distance’s innate musicality.On the flip, Deserted ramps up pace with tough rolling basslines and a backdrop like a Halloween nightmare, and this one is guaranteed to mash up any dancefloor, leaving bass bins shuddering under its intense weight. As per usual, support from the biggest names in dubstep including Icicle, Hatcha, Cyrus, Tunnidge, J:Kenzo and Vivek.
