Like the classic “No New York” the “New York No Wave” was one of the definitive collections documenting no wave music from NYC. No repeat tracks from Brian Eno's 1978 production appear, but the main insitgators of the genre are represented: Lydia Lunch, James Chance, Suicide, and Mars, along with rare ZE tracks from Lizzy Mercier Descloux and Rosa Yemen. Individually the artists involved applied funk, free jazz, and wailing garage rock and were collectively connected by passionate, nihilistic frenzy.
