'Lectric Sands show no signs of letting up on the quality as they hit us with their 5th release "Gymnesian Nights". The A-Side comes off like a cross between a dusty Chicago demo & an 80's style "Rude Movements" style synth jam, pure feelgood dance music with a deep melancholic vibe... and some electric guitar! The flip "Splash Wave" is a more dancefloor orientated number with ascending synth lines & jacking percussion, a real late night gem, one for the heads. The last track "Gymnesian Dawn" is a more subtle reworking of track A1, a little bit more subdued but not losing any of the vibes of the original track. Yet another solid release from this NYC label, massive shout out to Tropical Jeremy & Co!
