Titled after Bungalowdorf Olganitz, the grounds on which Nachtdigital takes place, Robag's Olgamikks excursion combines technical precision with a handmade quality, with clinks, chimes, fuzz and vocal snippets glued together by a warm, grooving pulse. Just as with his previous DJ mix efforts, Robag unarchived specific sound files from his original remix sessions from the past several years, twisting and rearranging them to flow together perfectly for your listening pleasure. The end results of his work is a shimmering, seamlessly mixed hour collecting numerous reworkings of a diverse range of artists, all tracks adorned with Robag's trademark pseudo-Scandinavian subtitles.

With a gentle entrance courtesy of Radiohead's Thom Yorke, singing over Berlin duo Modeselektor's icy beats, the source material slides into Robag's seductive motorik groove. After dubbed out mixes of Audision, Fenin and MRI, the journey takes on a majestic air with the harps and strings of Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Moenster, leading into the Robag Whrume original production “Kuttenrolch”, one of the two exclusive tracks he contributed to the compilation. As the mix picks up pace, we hear the eccentricities of Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin, the somber pop of Gui Boratto and the Godzilla-like horn of Extrawelt, finessing into a milky cocktail comprising Dntel, Luna City Express and Robag himself. Claude vonStroke and P-Funk bass legend Bootsy Collins begin the mix's closing moments, when playful breakbeats formate back onto a steady grid with an introspective, emanating glow.

Olgamikks is a proud moment that continues a long-running friendship, with Robag having played at Nachtdigital nearly every summer since 2003. Over time we have seen him go from success to success, and in turn he's admired the careful growth of our festival. Aside from our mutual respect for one another, we share a love for detail, making Robag's mixing and production style the perfect audio encapsulation of our vision.
