Futureboogie Recordings is proud to present the supremely skilled production force that is Bruh Jackman. A duo comprised of chameleon producer Jabru and bass scene favourite, Hackman, this devastatingly fresh debut EP also featuring rising star vocalist Joel Culpepper is one to mark out the Futureboogie imprint as a last word in UK electronic talent.
Carving out a niche of their own, Bruh Jackman are set to make a huge impact in 2013 with their beautifully textured electronic music where fluid neo soul melodies and velvety vocals melt into vivid keys and contemporary bass science. Opener ‘Miss My Love’ unites a wave of a lush, chiming melodies with swelling bass and uplifting vocals. Madly infectious and warm with a distinct kick and drive, ‘Miss My Love’ signifies the Bruh Jackman sound as a multi-layered thrill ride.
Bringing the pace right down with a mellow R&B groove and sultry broken beats, ‘California’ featuring hot new vocal talent and UK’s answer to Frank Ocean, Joel Culpepper is a mellow ride of seductive melancholia, swimming in glimmering pools of chords and laced with a raw stripped back energy, evoking a top-down sunrise drive through the Californian hills. An instrumental version is included as a digital only bonus.
The third original ‘Just To Keep’ wakes up the dancefloor once again with harmonious bass, powerful keys and another killer vocal hook to top it off. Hackman is an established artist on the bass scene, with successful releases on RAMP offshoot PTN and more recently Greco Roman, gaining fans across the board from Nick Grimshaw to Mary-Anne Hobbs to Skream to Gilles Peterson. He has also remixed heavyweight artists such as TEED and Lana Del Ray.
Having sprung from relative obscurity, Jabru is an artist who’s genre bending, engineering prowess is quickly building a weighty name. Having released a string of tracks on upcoming label Paradise Club Recordings (including the duo’s 2012 debut ‘Of The Sun’ and a collaboration with Joshua Idehen), and picking up support from Will Saul, Tom Middleton, T.Williams and Huxley to name a few, Jabru has joined forces with Hackman as Bruh Jackman to further conquer the realm of alternative electronic music.
