Three years after "His Hands" comes the follow-up, and rather wondrously "Who's Hurting Now?" is just as vital as its predecessor, filled with more exceptionally written songs about heartbreak, redemption and regret. Some of the team remains the same - Lambchop's Mark Nevers again produces superbly from his Beech House studio in Nashville. Will Oldham and Dan Tyler contribute songs once more; the latter bringing the uplifting country soul ballad "Light In Your Eyes", the former "Get Your Hands Dirty", a powerful piano-led hymnal that both begs, cajoles and rejoices in the power and strength of love (it's the equal of the title track Oldham scribed for His Hands).
