Flowers That Fell’ (already been picked up on by Steve Lamacq for Radio 1) is an irresistible, chiming mid 80’s indie guitar melody, an ascending punchy Smiths-esque bassline locked in with DFA-esque drums. ‘The Far’ builds on the emotive theme of the a-side: footsteps and a gunshot begin the military drum march. An insistent drum roll and a descending bassline take the story to the frontline.
