After that excellent 7inch from CFCF, Acéphale release another debut of a swiftly rising talent, the mysterious Memory Cassette.Situated in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, this bedroom producer has caught the interest of many with this project.Once again strictly limited to 500 white 7"s worldwide with no repress, this EP is built around two tracks (Surfin & Asleep At A Party) and the narrative responses to them (Body In The Water & Last One Awake).  The sound is nostalgic both aesthetically and emotionally – so there is little surprise when comparisons drift to outfits such as Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine and Boards of Canada.  More established pop references come through as well with echoes of classic Motown and girl groups. Limited on white vinyl. if only all record labels were as good as Acephale....
