No one has ever heard such classic house-inspired work from Kiki (think Nightcrwlers or the bassline from Robin S!). For us, its all about the Visionquest remix. Visionquest is Ryan Eliott, Shaun Reeves, and man-of-the-moment Seth Troxler. The three ex-Detroiters take “Good Voodoo”'s elementary, stripped down components and transform them into a driving house track. Jay Haze increases the speed on the edit,leaving the sleek open hi-hats and turns the track into a sharp-edged groove that means serious business at peak time, replacing the organ for a piano. Also, label mate Chaim focuses completely on the hypnotic interaction between the vocals and the groove. Reduced to the bare necessities, tracky and with that groove, the remix goes on and tops off the record perfectly.
