| We think its been a record year for the sheer number of 12 inch releases we have stocked at the shop. The news claim there is a vinyl boom but these sales tend to be split over an even bigger variety of releases, with less huge sellers. This is probably because records come, they sell out, you may be lucky to get a repress but usually not! Thats why, unfortunately, a lot of these records will be sold out and probably wont come back - and will be fetching high prices on Discogs soon enough! If any of these were available, we'd still have them in stock as it was hard to choose 100 of the finest 12 inches this year! Unlike many other websites, we dont deal in tracks, these are the 100 best slabs of 12 inch vinyl this year - in our opinion. Its just a list, its subjective and its compiled from sales, staff charts and charts from a few of our friends. Hope you enjoy! The singles list is one very subjective list - whilst a lot of people can agree on whether something is a good album or collection, the 1 or 2 track based 12 inch is a lot more subjective. From Art Crime's piano anthems to the annoyingly titled techno anthem #### from Rush Hour, the anthemic big sellers of Caribou, Ten Walls and Floorplan to the sleeper killer tunes such as Pender St Steppers, Merwyn & Inkswell etc. There's also some of our own releases in there from Midland's string-led anthemic 'Before We Leave' to the melancholic sounds of the beautiful Sad City release. |

9 . Caribou - Cant Do Without You - Jialong Caribou's biggest single of the year (until the Carl Craig remix dropped last week) and the go-to anthem for many a dancefloor. Everywhere we went this year, we heard this huge record so it gets a deserved spot in the top 10! |

8 . Percussions - KHLHI - Text There were two Percussions 12s on Text that came out at the same time; bt it was the killer Kieran Hebden / Four Tet-produced 'KHLHI' that became one of the anthems of the year and one of the Phonica best sellers!! |

7 . Floating Points - Nuits Sonares - Eglo A late one from FP but easily his best one of the year! First bounced down on stage during his set at the amazing festival of the same name, while 'Nectarines' is a slice of 11/4 dance with the sweet voice of Rahel. EPIC to say the least! |

6 . Art Crime - Never Look Back - WT A stunning anthemic piano-led EP from this previously unknown Russian producer based in Moscow. The excellent EP offers a full range of musical emotions for the dancefloor from the high highs of "Release" to the crying on the dancefloor of "Happiness Side Effects". |

5 . Terekke - Terekke - Lies Black Terekke once again delivering low key yet powerful, haze inducing productions. On this record he moves through various worlds, sometimes uplifting, sometimes nodding out - maybe even entering into the darker ambient side of the spectrum. A stunning release. |

4 . ##### - No Label Yellow / Blue - Rush Hour Infamous hashtag 12" from the Rush Hour 'No Label' label. One of our biggest sellers this year, often requested and annoyingly unsearchable on our system. Both cuts are worth the hassle. |

3 . Seven Davis Jnr - P.A.R.T.Y. - Apron A slow burner of a 12" - but a guaranteed P.A.R.T.Y. starter. Of all Seven Davis Jnr 12's, and the 'Friends' EP on Classic was excellent too but it was P.A.R.T.Y. which appealed to dancefloors whether festival or underground. Combining the funk of Prince or Rick James with Chicago 4 to the floor for a killer groove - now available in a Live version!! |

2 . Traumprinz - All The Things Ep - Traumprinz Certified deep & grainy jams from Giegling's wunderkid(s) - Traumprinz. Awarded the coveted 'Label Of The Year' on Resident Advisor this year, we are very happy that one of favourite labels is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Beautiful artwork on every release and the pinnacle was this melancholic deep house gem telling us not to cry...beautiful release! |

1 Leon Vynehall - Music For The Univited - 3024 Is it a single? Is it an album? You can work out our take on the question. Constantly selling out, we could never quite enough copies of this doublepack. "Music For The Uninvited" is a varied modern house masterpiece showcasing a producer at the top of his game. From the string-led 'Inside the Deku Tree' to the soulful-tinged 'Good Thing, our favourite was a toss-up between the Pepe Bradock 'Deep Burnt'-esque 'Be Brave Clenched Fists' and the killer '(Its Just) House of Dupree'! Ain't too bad a DJ either!! His set at out RSD all-dayer was S O L I D! Thank you Leon. Now we just need to persuade the label to repress it yet again! ;-) |
