Todd von Terje dives into summer with a new single entitled "Strandbar". This vinyl and digital release is the third on Olsen Records, following the Lindstrøm collab "Lanzarote" and Terje's "It's the Arps" EP. "Strandbar" follows 90s tradition by featuring three versions of the same piano based idea bringing in both a "samba", "disco" and a "bonus" mix. The a-side samba mix is a percussion cacophony with a busy beat tailored to make your limbs loose, the disco mix is what Terje would've played IF he'd been asked to program the music at the Virgin space shuttle, and the bonus mix is... a bonus mix. The title "Strandbar" means "beach bar" in norwegian and is a pun on the description "Inspector Norse" got on Norwegian national radio ("sounds like background music at a beach bar"). What's wrong with a beach bar anyway?!? This summer will see Terje touring extensively around Europe with a joint live set together with Lindstrøm on festivals like Melt!, Sonar, Parklife, 10 Days Off etc in between his already heavy DJ schedule (Distortion, Sete Worldwide, Calvi, Tomorrowland ++). More music will arrive shortly with another Olsen 12" out in late summer, and Todd Terje's very first full-length album is also in the horizons. The Olsen coverart is as always provided by surrealist illustrator Bendik Kaltenborn. Fun fact: The cover was actually made during Bendik's trip to Rio!
