Essential new release on Sunkissed Records featuring four Balearic disco gems from inimitable 60s pop siren Dusty Springfield. Side A kicks off with Marshall Jefferson’s atmospheric dance mix of ‘Nothing Has Been Proved’ - a blissful orchestral slo-mo collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys featuring a fantastic b-line and Dusty’s dreamy vocals, followed by the great 12” version of ‘Baby Blue’, a summery blast of disco gold driven by some great chugging tropical percussion, recently brought to attention by the likes of Horse Meat Disco and Lindstrøm. On the flip we get the hard-to-find seven minute Tom Moulton Disco mix of ‘That’s The Kind Of love I Got For You’. Only released as a DJ promo 12” in 1978, this is a gorgeous upbeat string and percussion-laden extravaganza that builds and builds to a dancefloor-burning crescendo. Finally, we have a cover of The Classics IV’s 1968 hit ‘Spooky’ - a beautiful laid-back groover featuring an ice-cool and ethereal vocal performance from Ms Springfield. An unmissable compilation of Dusty’s best Balearic moments.
