Two club classics, back to back – plus bonus tracks too! Ain't That Enough For You is classic disco grooving by John Davis – upbeat and clubby, and definitely a cut above work by most of his late 70s contemporaries! Davis has this magical way with a groove – able to bring in an undercurrent of funk while still letting the strings soar and the vocals fly – a way of keeping things deep even when crossing over – with a vibe that's arguably like some of the best that Salsoul had to offer at the time. Lyrics aren't much, but that lack is more than compensated by the keyboard and sax solos on the tunes – played by the man himself – on titles that include "Disco Fever", "A Bite Of The Apple", "I'll Be The Music", "Ain't That Enough For You", "Kojak Theme", and "I Got The Hots For You". Bonus tracks include "Ain't That Enough For You (12" mix)", "A Bite Of The Apple (12" mix)", "Kojak Theme (7" edit)", and "Disco Fever (7" edit)". Monster Orchestra Strikes Again is a smooth bit of pop disco from John Davis – the kind of record we never used to rate properly, but which sounds better and better as the years go by! Of course, part of that has to do with the fact that the album includes the massive cut "Bourgie Bourgie", one of those tunes that gets picked up years later, sampled, and played around – sounding better as a smooth disco revival number than we ever remember it sounding back in the day. The rest of the album's got a similar vibe – soaring instrumental grooving with female chorus vocals (although not by Ashford & Simpson, as on "Bourgie Bourgie"). Titles include "Love Magic", "Holler", "Baby I've Got It", and "That's What I Get". CD features bonus tracks – "14T", plus 7" edits of "Bourgie Bourgie", "Holler", and "Love Magic".
