Bristolian artist Hodge delivers more of his renowned style of techno via UK bass, with rather impressive results as seen on releases for Idle Hands and Livity Sound. This time for the always surprising Berceuse Heroique imprint. Starting off with the gnarly epic that is "Burned Into Memory" whose 808 kicks you in the face amidst dark Carl Craig-like string stabs and industrial strength snare attacks. It's not as brutalist on "He Woke In Darkness" a sublime deep house track with an angelic choir melody preset from an old synth backed by a killer drum machine workout. But it's no more Mr. Nice Guy again on "Forms Of Life" a stomping peak time monster with epically dark strings, rusty, hissing high hats and gutsy 909 stomp.
