Editions Disco returns with more killer edits for you! Massive DJ Support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Carl Craig, DJ Harvey, James Murphy, Benji B, Idjut Boys, Todd Terje, Shit Robot, Lindstrom & Prins Thomas & many others. It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us, and that’s because our friends have been rather busy! NYC’s Prince Language has been remixing the pants off of pretty much every sexy band in the world, from The Juan Maclean and MGMT, to LCD Soundsystem. With “Don’t Stop The Macho”, Prince Language delivers an edit of an 80s obscurity that is the perfect soundtrack for those sweaty, masculine nights under the strobelight moon. This is the sound of classic NYC sleaze, and it makes us wish that The Saint was still around! An insistent arpeggiator line, incredible synth work and an appearance by what we think is the Gay Men’s Red Army Chorus chanting a refrain of “Don’t stop, don’t stop it now” is guaranteed to grow hair on the chest of dancers everywhere. This is fog-machine music - Welcome To The Pleasuredome indeed! Poppers and ‘ludes at the ready, boys… On the B-side’s Nah, That’s Hot Man, NYC’s Donald Bumps chops up lines, er, we mean an obscure mid-tempo soulful disco groover with a killer female vocal into a gritty, dubbed-out dancefloor bomb. Sexy, assertive lyrics, funky congas, and a loop-driven arrangement run through lots of delay give this a similar vibe to a lot of the Idjuts best work, but it definitely has its own flavor.
