COTONETE

It was at the moment when everything was going to stop, that everything began for Cotonete. In the early 2000s, It was through Florian Pellissier's keyboards and Frank Chatonaque's sax that came out with the idea of putting a group dedicated to the jazz-funk of the 70's in order to include in his scores, nonchalance and percussion sent from Brasil. Consolidated by bass, drums, guitar, trombone and trumpet (all held by musicians who later founded Akalé Wubé, Camarao Orchestra or Florian Pellissier Quintet), Cotonete regularly plays their groove in public. Bars or obscure rooms, nobody comes out of their sets with a dry shirt. The step of the studio passage is then the natural prolongation of things. Ditch that separates them from their models, diluted magic when lighting the recording lights, Cotonete doesn’t manage to recreate or to capture the magic and the cohesion diffused on stage. Condemned to being only a band of live unable to immortalize on disc, Cotonete decides therefore to bid farewell in 2013, concretizing the end of their story with a tour ... Then Internet. A strange message from Eastern Europe. An invitation to play at a festival in Kazakhstan. Definitely a spam. Destination, the digital trash. Rescue in extremis by a relative who turns all the lights on the sender. Rustam Ospanoff, an influential DJ from the cold. The invitation was serious! Rear machine! A month later, Cotonete, who were near to close their coffin, found themselves sharing the poster of a festival to give the full measure of their capacity to vitrify the scene and to take the audience in groove- Trips that pass through Africa, South America, while winding through the streets of cities teeming with people and electricity. Melik, programmed DJ by their side during these two decisive days, didn’t need a detailed diagram to understand that the business was serious and offer them a return to the studio to burn a series of three maxis Based on the principle of the original title and its remixes.

Earth Overshoot Day is the second part. Earth Overshoot Day, the theoretical date when all the world's renewable resources for the year were consumed.
