It goes without saying that we’re huge fans of Cottam. Whether it’s his own productions or cuts off his expertly curated Ruff Draft imprint, we always find ourselves reaching for his records. We’re also massive fans of DJ Nature’s unique style which makes the Ruff Draft 09 a match made in heaven for us!
‘Blood On My Hands' is a future classic in our eyes. It utilizes a stunning polemic speech from a ‘60s episode of The Twilight Zone that’s sadly as relevant now as it was back then. The brooding sub bass and Dub Techno sensibilities create an intensely meditative vibe and when they’re combined with the shuffling, intricate rhythms it results in the perfect late night groove. We honestly can’t get enough of this one and anticipate it to fly our when it arrives in September. Barcelona’s John Talabot has been one of the biggest revelations of dance music in recent times. He has risen up from being a complete unknown to one of the most promising and in demand acts to arrive on the international club circuit. We’ve been big supports of his since his first 12” landed on Permanent Vacation back in 2009 and we're extremely happy to have this very special mix as the latest addition to our humble series. Oriol has always been quite an elusive character so we've decided to leave out the interview and let the music do the talking here. Enjoy!
